Upcoming Dinner Program
“San Ramon Valley History: Watersheds and Change”
On January 16th, Beverly Lane will present a program featuring the importance of watersheds in San Ramon Valley’s history. Did you know the two San Ramon Ranchos were located in the Valley’s two watersheds? This will be a chance to learn and talk about the history and characteristics of our local watersheds and to add your stories about creeks, floods and bridges.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT…
If you missed our November meeting, here’s a recording of local author and educator Dan Hanel’s presentation on the local history that inspired his four-part historical fiction book series, “In the Shadow of Diablo”. Each of his books revolves around a different chapter in local history, including the heydays of Byron Hot Springs and the Black Diamond Mines, the establishment of the largest winery in the world in Contra Costa County following the 1906 earthquake, and the life of John Marsh, a prominent figure in early California history who was brutally murdered after building an enormous stone mansion near Brentwood, which still stands today.
